Happy Memorial Day

It was a beautiful Memorial Day weekend here in Cassopolis. The temperature reached somewhere in the 80's and the sun was out most of the time. John worked long hours through Saturday night and we were very happy to have him home with us Sunday and Monday!

We decided to host a cookout on Sunday and learned that getting ready for a party is not as easy as it was before Izzie. We made it, though, and had tons of fun catching up with friends and family after a very long winter. Izzie was also introduced to lots of new friends and though sometimes new faces got to her, she did pretty well. She also looked super cute in her "Princess Isabel" onesie - thank you Aunt Bethie! She also attended her very first Memorial Day parade today. She did well with that too - the sirens didn't seem to bother her at all. We can only imagine how much candy she will gather at the parade next year!

Izzie pulled out a couple of new tricks over the weekend. First was Friday, she started blowing "raspberries." Once she learned I got a kick out of them she did it constantly - all Friday night and most of Saturday.

We've been avidly watching and waiting for her to flip from her back to her front. She's really been trying hard but she only makes it to her side, gets frustrated and falls onto her back. Well, she actually made it over this morning all the way onto her belly. Unfortunately, John had left to pick up coffee and I ran into the next room to grab something. By the time I came back, she was on her stomach! She hasn't flipped since then so we'll continue to watch and wait!
